Scope
The purpose of the department is to conduct research and teach courses in the areas of analysis, evaluation and design of Rural Infrastructure projects contributing to the development of the country, considering their environmental impacts.
The department offers two main tracks:
The water resources management track focuses on the analysis and evaluation of surface and groundwater systems needed for water resources management and development projects as well as for the protection of surface and groundwater bodies and aquifers.
The transportation engineering track focuses on the planning, design, construction and operation of transportation projects, as well as the planning and evaluation of highway networks.
