Urban zones appear as irregular zones which differ from the surrounding landscape by their chaotic aspect.

On SPOT images, the slightly built zones are not easily localizable due to the weak resolution of sensors.

Their properties are the following:

Radiometry

The aspect is strongly textured with very significant radiometric differences from one pixel to another.

Surfaces having the same radiometry are very small.

The diversity of the materials and of the grounds does not make it possible to give reliable assumptions on the spectral answer.
