Rivers
Rivers have also the aspect of relatively fine lineaments from 1 to 5 pixels. Small rivers appear darker than roads and railways, on both channels XS3 and P.
Their properties are the following:
| Radiometry | Longitudinal radiometric variations are weak and texture is homogeneous. On channel SPOT-XS3, water stands out clearly from its environment, and appears very dark. |
| Geometry | A river follows a decreasing slope. In mountainous area, a river coincides with the bottom of a valley. |
| Topology | Rivers are connected in treelike system. |
