The aim of adaptive fusion is to use at the same time conjunctive fusions and disjunctive fusions in order to benefit from their respective advantages while avoiding their disadvantages.
To achieve this goal, conjunctive fusion is used when the sources to be fused are agreeing (the assumption of the reliable sources is then credible). The process passes from a conjunctive behaviour to a disjunctive behaviour as the conflict between the sources increases. Lastly, disjunctive fusion is applied when the conflict between the sources is total.
