Focal Elements and Body of Evidence

Any non-empty part E of $\Omega$ such that $m(E) \neq 0$ is called a focal element or focal proposition, and   $\mathcal{E}$ represents their set. The couple $(\mathcal{E}, m)$ is called the body of evidence.

The focal element corresponds to an event in which the observers believe, at least a little.
