Conclusion on Belief Theory

Belief theory makes it possible to model the uncertainty of a problem and to update, using Dempster's rule, confidence in the studied proposals as additional information becomes available.

Taking into account completely contradictory information is not possible. However, this is a very particular case which is very improbable in satellite image classification. The use of this rule is thus completely possible and desirable because of the great flexibility of representation of information permitted in belief theory.
