Dempster-Shafer's orthogonal rule [Smets, 1990], based on Shafer's evidence theory [Shafer, 1976], has a conjunctive behaviour, as shown by [Bloch and Maître, 1994] [Bloch and Maître, 1996] [Haralick and Shapiro, 1993a].
The use of this rule implies that information to fusion is comparable with masses of evidence. We will first present the mode of calculation of the masses of evidence proposed by Zahzah [Zahzah, 1992]), and we will apply this rule within the framework of our application to the satellite images of Palni (India).
