Total Conflict

Figure 32: Quantified adaptive fusion of four sources in total conflict.

\begin{figure}\begin{center}\fbox{\epsfbox{c3-adq1.eps}}\end{center}\end{figure}

When all sources to be fused are in total conflict (figure 32), it is not possible to find an intersection of their possibility distributions. Similarly, it is not possible to find any consensus.

The only solution applicable to such a case is disjunctive fusion (part D of rule 62). As long as the sources do not agree (sources m), part D of the rule of fusion behaves as a disjunctive fusion.
