Disadvantages of using the mixing proportion
a
|
-
The mixing proportion a cannot be calculated in a straight forward
way as NDVI, which is calculated directly from the spectrum of the
mixed pixel. Knowledge of the spectral properties of the pure classes is
required.
|
-
The mixing proportion a is very sensitive to illumination changes,
so the images have to be properly corrected for changes of illumination.
